Director, CENTRIC
Babak Akhgar is Professor of Informatics and Director of CENTRIC (Centre of Excellence in Terrorism, Resilience, Intelligence and Organized Crime Research). He has written, edited and co-edited 16 books on security-related topics and has 150 publications on security and policing. He is currently responsible for several security sensitive projects on AI and policing with specific focus on CT, CSE, OCG and protection of public spaces with multi-million pounds budgets.
Babak was Trustee of the Police National Legal Database (PNLD) for 2 years and chairman of the Police Strategy Forum (2016). Prof Akhgar is coordinator of RAI funded project AIPAS on AI accountability for police forces. Professor Babak Akhgar has been awarded an OBE in June 2022, in recognition of his services to security research.
What is Lorem Ipsum?
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
