Head of Land Use Programme, UK Geospatial Commission (Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology)

Claire is the Head of the Land Use Programme at the UK Geospatial Commissions, an
expert committee responsible for setting the UK’s geospatial strategy and coordinating public
sector geospatial activity. Claire has over seven years of experience working with the UK public
sector on urban development, infrastructure and local resilience. In her current role she leads a
programme of work to champion the use of geospatial data and evidence for decisions about land
use, both inside and outside of government. Previously Claire was the Chief of Staff for the UK
government’s local emergency response team and also worked for London’s Deputy Mayor for
Transport, leading on innovation and new technologies. Claire holds a Masters in Public
Administration from the London School of Economics and began her career in strategy consulting
with KPMG Canada
