David Wagg

Professor of Nonlinear Dynamics, University of Sheffield & Co-Director (Infrastructure), Turing Research and Innovation Cluster, Digital Twins, The Alan Turing Institute

David was awarded his BEng degree and PhD (at the Centre for Nonlinear Dynamics) from University College London. From 1998 until 2000 he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Earthquake Engineering Research Centre at the University of Bristol and in 2000 he was appointed as a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol and he became Professor there in 2008. From 2004-2009 he was an EPSRC Advanced Research Fellow. In July 2013 he moved to the University of Sheffield to take up a chair in Nonlinear Dynamics. Professor Wagg’s research is focused on understanding and controlling nonlinear structural dynamics.
