Hardik Rajpal

Research Associate, The Alan Turing Institute

Hardik is a postdoctoral research associate working with the Shocks and Resilience project at the Alan Turing Institute and the Centre for Complexity Science at Imperial College London. As a young complexity scientist, he aims to understand various complex systems through the lens of mathematical modelling and information theory. With projects ranging from opinion dynamics, neuroscience, ecology and economics, he aims to bring this interdisciplinary perspectives to add to address the challenges present in these disciplines.

Inspired by his ventures in computational neuroscience, his recent work focuses on re-imagining the production economy as an informational complex systems. Here, industries share information as resources and then process this information to create novelty. This perspective of production process yields empirical measures of technological sophistication as well as uncover the existing synergies that can be leveraged within an economy.
