Public Engagement Manager, The Alan Turing Institute
Jessie Pearce is the Public Engagement Manager at The Alan Turing Institute, leading the development of creative projects that aim to get people thinking about data science and AI. Last year, she led the Turing’s first public engagement grant award scheme, which provided funding to initiatives that encompass art, theatre and community-led activities.
Jessie has been at the Turing since 2016, and was previously the Senior Events Coordinator, working with high-profile speakers across academia and government. When not working, she can be found outside, running uncomfortably long distances, or inside, playing Scrabble against strangers on the internet. She has a dog named Britney and her favourite word is sandwich.
What is Lorem Ipsum?
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
