Met Office Principal Fellow
Professor Kirstine Dale Kirstine Dale is the Met Office’s Principal Fellow for Data Science and Co-Director for the Joint Centre for Excellence in Environmental Intelligence. A
As part of her leading role in data science partnerships, she is the Met Office’s Co-Director for the Joint Centre for Excellence in Environmental Intelligence (JCEEI). The JCEEI brings together world-leading researchers from the University of Exeter and the Met Office, to pioneer the development of Environmental Intelligence research and deliver innovative, interdisciplinary education and training.
Kirstine has significant experience overseeing large, collaborative research programmes and a strong, multidisciplinary background across natural and social sciences. This broad experience is complemented by training and leadership experience in business, programme and research management. Outside of work she’s a keen sailor and aspirant potter.

What is Lorem Ipsum?
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
