Collaborating with the Departments of Radiology and Engineering, she delves into groundbreaking research on High Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer (HGSOC), focusing on spatial and temporal tumour heterogeneity. Adept in AI and image analysis, Maria’s work extends to real-time ultrasound-guided biopsies and innovative lesion-specific 3D-printed moulds for surgical tumour resection. Recognised for her contributions, Maria holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering and has garnered accolades, including the 2022 Enrichment studentship from The Alan Turing Institute. As the inaugural winner of the PitchFest AI UK in 2023, Maria now graces the event as a speaker and judge, showcasing her commitment to transformative AI applications in healthcare.
