Semeli Hadjiloizou

Research Assistant in Data Justice and Global Ethical Futures, The Alan Turing Institute

Semeli Hadjiloizou is a Research Assistant in Data Justice and Global Ethical Futures in The Alan Turing Institute’s Ethics and Responsible Innovation team within the Public Policy Programme. Semeli is currently working across projects focusing on the ethical design, development, and deployment of AI-intensive technologies, including work with UNESCO and the ‘Advancing data justice research and practice’ (ADJRP) project.

Semeli holds an MSc in Media and Communications (Data and Society) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) with distinction and was a recipient of the Onassis Foundation Scholarship. At the LSE, Semeli’s research focused on data justice through topics such as data activism, data feminism, and environmental data justice. Prior to joining the Turing, Semeli worked in the technology/telecommunications industry for two years across data and insights, Internet of Things, and regulatory, risk, and compliance teams.
