Trusted research environments for sensitive data: What systems can people believe in?

We need to work with sensitive data to make transformative innovations in healthcare, climate change, digital infrastructure and more. Trusted Research Environments (TREs) are secure computing environments created to carry out this kind of research.

This workshop will bring together AI UK attendees to discuss how the TRE community should build the next generation of TREs, including group discussions on:
– What features do these environments need to have to be trustworthy?
– How can we make these environments both safe and easy to use?
– What are the data ethics principles that should govern how we run these environments?
