Francisco Gomez Medina

Research Application Manager - Data Centric Engineering, The Alan Turing Institute

Francisco is a Research Application Manager in Data-Centric Engineering and leads the organisation of PitchFest 2024. Before joining the Turing, he was a PhD student at the Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge. His doctoral research focuses on understanding the value of Digital Twins in heavy asset industries, such as aerospace and wind renewables.

He is also an advisor of MODIAG-PTC, an international research programme focused on the development of Digital Twins for parabolic solar power plants. As part of his research, he has produced industry reports and research publications which are available upon request. Prior to his PhD, he spent time working at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory and co-founded two startups in the gamified advertising and education sectors. He holds a MEng degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol.
