Research Software Engineer Lead, British Antarctic Survey

James leads the Digital Innovation Team at the British Antarctic Survey. They deliver digital solutions based on cutting edge polar research, integrating science and operational requirements, for broad research and innovation real-world use cases. James has a keen interest in all forms of distributed computing and data-driven systems and has been working on the IceNet platform, among other projects, since it’s original publication. He currently looks at how IceNet and other AI- and physics-based models can interoperate to represent natural systems, with a view to producing emergent digital twins of the environment.
