CEO, The Alan Turing Institute
Jean Innes joined The Alan Turing Institute as CEO in July 2023. She has worked across the public, private and non-profit sectors to use data science and AI to solve real world challenges. As Director of Transformation and Strategy at the AI firm Faculty she managed a series of data science and machine learning projects for private and public sector clients, many in the built environment, and acted as technology advisor to the World Economic Forum’s Infrastructure Council. Prior to that, Jean was Director of Consumer Data at Rightmove, the UK’s largest online property search website, and gained early insight into the deployment of AI at scale while managing commercial relationships within Amazon’s retail business.
Jean trained as a scientist, studying chemistry at Imperial College followed by a PhD at Cambridge and post-doctoral studies at Stanford University in the United States. She returned to the UK and spent 12 years at HM Treasury working in a variety of policy roles, latterly as Deputy Director, working with several ministers and a wide range of bodies across the civil service, wider public sector and external stakeholders. Jean is a Non-Executive Director at Housemark, a membership organisation which provides data analytics services to the social housing sector.
What is Lorem Ipsum?
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
