Pro-Vice-Chancellor Research & Knowledge Exchange, University of Nottingham
Professor Tom Rodden is Pro-Vice-Chanceller for Research and Knowledge Exchange at University of Nottingham. As well as championing a human-centred approach to computing in his research, Tom has also served as Chief Scientific Advisor at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport where he helped shape the regulatory position regarding merging technologies, such as AI.
A Fellow of the Royal Society, Tom is also a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, The Association for Computing Machinery, The British Computer Society and The Academy of Social Sciences. Tom has also recently been elected as a Main Panel Chair for REF2029.
Previously, Tom served as Deputy Chief Executive of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and in the 2025 New Years Honours List, was awarded a CBE for services to Science, Technology and Academia.

What is Lorem Ipsum?
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
