Head of Skills, Head of Skills - The Alan Turing Institute
Vera started as the Head of Skills at the Turing in July 2022 and is part of the Academic Engagement department.
Prior to joining the Turing, Vera has worked at EMBL-EBI and the University of Cambridge, where she led a team to provide training and career development opportunities (and sometimes outreach/dissemination) for different scientific communities. She specialised in training needs analysis and creating competency-based training programmes, which led to the development of the EMBL-EBI Competency Hub. She has a PhD in plant developmental genetics and an MBA in management of research infrastructures.
What is Lorem Ipsum?
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
